All wood was salvaged from the destruction left behind by the Sandy Storm on the beaches and boardwalks of the New Jersey coastline. A limited number are available solely using charred sections of the boardwalk and buildings damaged in the 2013 SeaSide boardwalk fire. All works are numbered in series and reflect the area that the wood was salvaged from. Each piece is conversational yet inspirational as this wood has survived to tell a story.

Storm and Sea Salvaged My Wave #477

$300.00

First in the “My Wave” collection for 2021, named after the lyrics from one of our greatest singer songwriters, The Great Chris Cornell. This is also the first piece to include the historic plaster lath and moldings from the 1879 constructed ‘The Beacon House” in Sea Girt and a locker door from the South Pavilion in Spring Lake. I have not painted any of this wave, the brighter teal is from the Avon Boardwalk Bench seat wood salvaged in the days after Sandy by a volunteer firefighter who located his Grandparents bench with their dedication plaque still attached. The green with white is the actual original gym door from The Asbury Boys Club on Monroe Ave, est 1950. The yellow with green underneath salvaged from early 1900’s barn doors from Wall. Now the new stuff, Darker teal with dark grain is from The South Pavilion Demo in Spring Lake, Locker #147, dont know how much of this door ill be able to get, so this is a Keeper. And finally the white moldings are also from “The Beacon House” in Sea Girt, circa 1879. This will go FAST… 16 1/2 x 16 1/2 inch… Stunning Colors.
